I cannot find any info on my great nan Flossie Mabel Shannon ( I think this was her married name) Born in wales 1902 and died 18/12/1983. If anyone can find anything out about her from any records offices it would be a great help. many thanks Allison

How certain are you that she was born in Wales? Do you have any certs for her at all and if so what are the details? Do you know anything else about her? (marriages, siblings, parents? children?) Suzanne

I can't find a death for anyone of that name registered in the Dec. qtr. of 1983 or in January of 1984. Could Shannon have been her maiden name? Kath. x

theres no Shannon on deaths for 1983 with that age (+/- 5 years)

I have her Death cert that has her name as being Flossie Mabel Shannon but she was married to Herbert Victor Shannon ( second hausband so he was not my blood relative). She had four children i think Olwen, Sidney, Ronnie and Gladys my nan, I know she was born in Wales but not sure which part. She Died on the 18/12/1983 and thats all i know, I can't seem to find her maidon name anywhere? any help would be appreciated.

Info on Death certificates are not always accurate, its what the informat believes to be true. Her death was regestered in wandsworth registary office on the 19th/12/1983?? Why would it not be showing up?

maybe its one of those the local registry hasn't passed on, so isn't included in the GRO index? ***Flossie Mabel Small 1902 Apr-May-Jun Axbridge Somerset, genuki says Axbridge isn't far from South Wales

Perhaps it just got missed off the copy sent to the GRO since it was quite near to Christmas. I've looked on 1837online too and it's not on there either. Kath. x

She was born on the 1st April 1902 if this helps at all!

Many thanks for all your help, could anyone look up and see if there is a marriage registered anywhere for her? she married twice i think, Ist time to somebody Thomas and the second time to Herbert Victor Shannon?. She would have moved to the camberwell area of london I think?

I know very little about my nan, only info i have is on my dads birth cert, it states her name as Gladys Charles late Walker Formerly Thomas???? Not sure which is her maidon name and doesn't tie in to Flossie mabel Shannon anywhere? I know she lived in the camberwell area Dulwich as thats where my dad was registered, unfortunatly he is no longer with us to ask for any other info?

My dad John Charles was born on the 24/07/1948 at Dulwich Hospital, camberwell, His dad was Alfred james charles, mother Gladys Charles late Walker formerly Thomas ( I think she married again to John robertson or robinson later on?). Siblings Lesley, Micheal, Peter, David , Terence. Many thanks
