Any MIDDLE name for William ( the son ?) There are several William Burn's born between 1905 - 1909 in DEVON alone, but ALL have a middle name :-( .... haven't checked Cornwall yet !! Where does he fit into your tree ... is this your Mum's brother or similar ? ... just wondering who would have most knowledge about William the son ... and if they are still available to help with questions ??? Did the son ever marry ? if so, to whom and when/where. ? I think you are going to HAVE to work backwards from present day to get to the son and then work out if Dad was still alive .... to then narrow down a search for Mum's second marriage ....... IF her and David DID marry ! Elaine ;-) Did Henrietta and DAVID have any children ? if so, names and years of births ???? When, in 1902, did Henrietta marry William Burn ?? **Found it ... 1 Burn William Tavistock.5b 734 Marriage 2 1902 2 Govier Henrietta Tavistock.5b 734 Marriage 2 1902

Ok thanks. So maybe I was wrong and that William was born between 1902 and 1909. Fern -x-.

Fern, DON'T waste more credits on 1837online. I have searched on Family Relatives, which is complete ..........upto 1920. I have also searched for William Burn being born Sept 1911 - 1915 with MMN Govier - no return matches, so he was definately born before Sept 1911 ... but there are NO matches for Cornwall or Devon 1909 - 1911 Elaine ;-)

I'd have to ask my mum but his last known movements would have been Cornwall and I would think he died before 1984. I'm really sorry I'm about as useless as a donkey ass. Lol. I'm using my credits on 1837 online to search for marriage. Have search 1915, 1916, 1914, 1913 and 1917 so luck yet. Fern -x-.

So ............. would the son William have died after 1984 ? and if YES ... then did he die in Devon ... or Cornwall (which ?) Last known whereabouts for him ???? year ???

Fern Report 6 May 2006 16:24

No William the son lived to an old age no idea when we lost contact. Henrietta was born in Cornwall, got married in Devon, lived in Cornwall with David and died in Devon in the 1960's. Fern -x-.

We need to somehow narrow this information down. (lol) Any idea when/if the SON .. William Burn died ? we can locate his birth date from his Death record ... which will get the birth cert. The birth cert will indicate IF Dad was still alive when son was born. This in turn will narrow down the search for any future marriage for Mum .... Any idea WHERE the son was born ..... ? Why do you assume that Henrietta and David got married in Devon or Cornwall ? Elaine ;-)

No he was a gardener. Fern -x-.

Was David Macklin anything to do with the Naval Base down there ? ... just wondering IF they could have got married onboard ship ??? ... if you insist they got married before 1920. Elaine ;-)

Her son was called William Burn. I'm sorry I am unable to say exactly when he was born. If they didn't have such a popular name maybe I would be able to get somewhere. Lol. I'm also unable to say when Henrietta's first husband died. But she definatley married David Macklin before 1920's. Sorry. Fern -x-.

Can I suggest that her first hubby was still alive around about 1910 or died whilst she was still pregnant ... ... for her to name a son William Burn after him. Or was the son named William Macklin ? This info helps narrowe down search for events .. Elaine :-) I can't find any marriage between Henrietta & David Macklin. I can't find a marriage for David Macklin upto and including 1920. You will need to trawl the Ancestry Marriage indexes 1921 onwards until you find a possible match. Elaine ;-)

She did have a child he was named William after his father, but I think he was born abt 1910. I have a photo of her second husband David Macklin and the era looks 1920's. This is when I presume she married David no later than 1920's.

Unknown Report 6 May 2006 16:02

Presume she had a child sometime around 1915 then yes ? ... which is where you are getting the 1915 year from ? Elaine ;-) Maybe NO children before 1920 ..., as I can't find any with 'Govier' as MMN : Where have you had the name David Macklin from please ?

Fern

Fern Report 6 May 2006 16:00

Her first husband died. His name was William Burn, there are to many to conclude when he died. They married in Sep 1902 in Plymouth, Devon. Fern -x-. Her maiden name was Govier.

Unknown Report 6 May 2006 15:59

If her first marriage took place in 1902 .... then how do you know she married again as early as 1903 ? Presume you have 1st hubbies death in 1902/3 then yes ? What was Henrietta's MAIDEN name ... presume 1st hubby was a 'Burn' ? No marriage found 1912 - 1920 ......... Elaine ;-)

What happened to her first marriage? Have you looked for a death for the first husband?

Please could anyone help me look for a marriage please. I have just tried to search for it on Ancestry but for some reason it wont let my search. The marriage is between Henrietta Burn and David Macklin in either Devon or Cornwall. This is Henrietta's second marriag, her first one was in 1902, so it had to of taken place between 1903 and 1915. Many thanks, Fern -x-.
