1851 and 1861 lookups please plus a BMD?

hiya, i know it doesnt help but what if she just took husbands name for children without actually being married to him, ie lived in sin but passed herself off as married, it did happen, did you find harriet living with parents on 1841 cen? julie |

That's the source I have. BUT if she is unmarried how come Nancy Ellen's father has the same name as her? and as her mother? If so, where is John in 1841 1851 1861....etc? I've been stuck on this for a while. |

My only source for John Hadfield is aas father named on the marriage certificate of his daughter Nancy Ellen Hadfield in 1880. I have found (Nancy) Ellen in the 1861 in Stockport with her grandparents Michael and Mary Ryan. In 1871 Ellen is in Dukinfield with her mother Harriet and sister Frances. John doesn't appear anywhere. I'm assuming his date of birth from Nancy Ellen's birth (1860 in Stockport) and his wife's Harriet in about 1831 in Manchester. |

Can anyone find in the 1851 census John HADFIELD in either Bolton or Stockport. He was probably born about 1830. He may be married to a Harriet born about 1831 in Manchester. His job was hawker. I'd like to find their marriage too, about 1855? I'd also like to find Michael and Mary Ryan in either Bolton or Stockport in the 1841. They were possibly Harriet's parents. Thanks for any help offered Jane |
