hiya, i'll eat my words, on looking back it now seems asthough, samuel cheney may be ellens grandad, and not annes dad, if marriages are correct then her maiden name was shrives, which means, she, couldnt be his daughter is that time of night, i'm tired, my excuse anyway julie

If you're still there Christine, where did that come from? I've tried that ref on FreeBMD and got nowhere. Is it just me?! Mike.

But Julie if Ann Cheney married Benjamin Shelford as above, then he may be Ann's dad. I have a feeling Ellen is going to turn out to be illegitimate because her dad isn't mentioned on the IGI and her mother's surname is recorded.
