Can anyone do an 1871 look up please - can't find

I'm looking for the Gregory family in 1871 or 1881. Maria Bateman married Jesse Gregory in Greenwich in 1862. They had a daughter Priscilla Gregory born 1866 Deptford. Priscilla is living with her grandparents on 1881 - grandparents name Ranoe (mistranscribed as Ranve). Maria was born around 1842 in Southwark. I don't know where Jesse was born or when. I've looked on FreeBMD fand family search for Jesse but not luck. I don't know about any other children - sorry its not a lot to go on. Any help is much appreciated, Selena |

Selena Just a query mate howcomes Pricillas Grandparents have the surname Ranoe and not Bateman or Gregory as you would think they should have Kath x Dont worry i see he married Jane LOuisa Bateman in 1851 Greenwich |

Thanks Kath, I have Jane & Richard marriage cert. Jane was born Johnson, married my ancestor William Bateman. They had a daughter Maria Bateman. William Bateman died and Jane married the boy next door Richard Ranoe. Maria married Jesse Gregory. thanks for the help, going to have a nice soak now. Selena |

Jane, I didn't see that. That's sad, so it might explain why Priscilla was living with her grandparents. Poor Jane Ranoe had already buried a son in 71, now a daughter in 75. Got to find out what happened to dad and other kids now. Selena |
