Thanks so much-I'm pretty sure this is her! I checked on my tree and her sisters child was born in Bristol in 1900 as well-same quarter as Wallace! So this makes sense-why this is the only one of her children to be born there. I'll definitley be getting some more certs now and folllowing her on. -Thanks for your help alll of yu-off to bed now! Have looked at Wallace in 1881-he's telling the truth-he was born in Exeter-and whats more-his family live in the street next to where Jessies sister Ellen and her husband lived?-bit of a coincidence there! You are all so clever-will definitely be pursuing this more now! thanks so much-thought she was dead poor girl and had given up on her!

Found Jessie L Sargent-she ws born 1890 St Thomas-so I think I can rule the marriage out for now. Back to deaths!

Yes-I'd forgotten about that one!-As I couldn't find her before on either 1891 or 1901-I'd dismissed this one-and the initial is diffent-but could be wrong! Theres always room for variation!. I might end up ordering thisone ow-to make sure one way or the other!-I think though this is Jessie Louisa Sargent from Plymoth or Stoke Damerel.. Hmmm-thanks very much

I think I've found her in 1891 working as a servant aged 17 in Exeter St Davids. It's Sargent on the image but has been indexed as Saigant. Do you know if she has a middle name as this one is Jessie E. Janice

Jessia/Jessie Sargent born 1875-Mary Steps/Mary Major,Exeter,Devon. Parents Ellen and Charles sisters Alice and Ellen brothers Albert and Charles -John, Have got her on 1881 living at Cricklepit Exeter Devon. Cannot find her again.No death or marriage. She's not the one in Deptford london later on-that's her cousin. It's a real mystery.I suspect she may have died as her brother did between 1881 and 1891-but cannot find an entry-mispelt or not! please can anyone find her.She's the only one I've not managed to track. They were a very poor family,so maybe she ended up in some sort of home/House of mercy -but where!!!(her sister Ellen was at Bovey Tracey in 1901 House of Mercy) Any help would be much appreciated.
