Name trouble - help please

I'm having problems working out what my g-g-g-grandmother's name was. in the 1851 census it is noted as Soney, and in the 1841 it is Sency. Is it a shortened version of something, or an unusual name that the enumerators misunderstood, or...? Any suggestions appreciated.
