1901 - Catherine gives her place of birth as Llanddarog - have you looked for a birth registration to match this. It is in Carmarthen registration district. If you find a possible, you could put her father's name, which you have from the marriage cert. as a checking point.

I suppose she could have been visiting elsewhere on census night - but it really is a long shot - not one I would claim without a lot more proof.

That would make sense I think because Mountain Ash and Aberdare attracted people because of the mines so that does not supprise me. Also the wife's name is interesting because one of Catherine's daughters was named SARAH and there are no Sarah's on Thomas Bond's side - so maybe she was named after Catherine's mother? Who knows??? 1891 has this David Jones abt 1835 Llangatock, Carmarthenshire, Wales Head Aberdare Glamorgan - isn't place of birth similar to Catherine's on the 1901. Only problem is, his occupation is coal miner. Thank you BOTH!!!! I have tried to look up Catherine's birth details on the IGI but I have had no luck apart from a Catherine Jones which was born in 1863 in Llanddewi Brefi, Camarthenshire. Her parents were DAVID JONES and Mary The family says that Catherine was born there but I have looked for a birth cert. in that area but cannot find one. Can anyone help me out with this? Craig there are 48 David Jones born in Caernarvonshire in 1835 +/- 5 years, needle in a haystack comes to mind. Georgina.

Hi I am trying to find 2 families in the 1891 census. I am trying to find a Catherine Ann Jones and a Thomas Bond. On their marriage cert. (in 1891) they both give their residence as Ferndale which is in Llanwonno, Glamorgan, South Wales. I would like to see if both of the families pop up in Ferndale at and this time? But any other families with the surname as JONES and BOND's would be useful for my research. Thank you Craig Also on their marriage cert. Catherine Ann Jones gave her age as 25 so this would make her birth year as 1866 and Thomas's birth year is 1862. Catherine's birth place I think is Llanddewi Brefi but it would defiantly have been in Camarthenshire. Thomas's birth place was Kempsford, Gloucestershire.
