Not sure any of the Driscol/ls in 1851 or 1861 are yours. Have you looked for a birth registration for Mary Ann? nell |

I found this Cornelius in Rotherhithe which is a possible - Cornelius Shea abt 1826 Ireland Head Rotherhithe Surrey but its really the parents and Mary Ann that I am after. Trying to match her into my Mary Ann who claims she was born in Poplar! |

1861 father not Michael, but Limehouse as birthplace fits in with her Stepney address & being born Poplar as its all in the same area of London. Bromley Middlesex William Driscoll abt 1823 St Georges, Middlesex, Head Ellen Driscoll abt 1822 Ireland Wife >>MaryAnn Driscoll abt 1847 Limehouse, Middlesex, Daughter William Driscoll abt 1853 Bromley, Middlesex, England Son Esther Brett abt 1833 Shadwell Niece Mary Ann Brett abt 1825 Wapping Lodger I know father's names on marriage certs don't always tally with those on birth certs and/or censuses. |

Any clues in the witnesses on her marriage cert? Is she consistent about being born in Poplar in later censuses? Any clues in her children's names, ie is there a son called Michael which might help to confirm father's name? |

Marriage witnesses are Ithiel Price Honora Conolly Found Ithiel in the 1841 census and again in the1871 census (if I remember rightly) - and he appears to be the parish clerk (or at least a parish clerk) Have seen the name Honora on a couple of the Driscoll census returns but nothing that I can fit in with Mary Ann or father Michael. |

At the moment I think anything is a possibility!!! Think I will have to take a chance with a birth certificate- I would have thought that as she gave her age on the marriage certificate as 19, then it is probably best to start with one of the 1845 ones, even though she seems to think she was born in 1847 in later life! |
