alexandra, you dont actually have to be stuck with a certificate that isnt yours, if you apply to the gro and intend paying by card.tell them all details you have and that you only want the certificate which applies to you,stateing both parents names and so on. good luck. gwen.

No Mothers maiden name, that wasn't done till the 1900's You would need to order the certificates, that info is not recorded anywhere else Vikki

oh so the only way i would know is to obtain certs for both? is that right or is there another way? for the birth entry does it say mothers maiden name?

no name i think the NK on the 1841 cenus stands for not known banks. Is there a death for that person stated in the same year?

Hi Alexandra I have found only one female birth in Bermondsey in 1841 (2nd Quarter) and that is for a Mary Ann Banks Vol. iv pag 13. There are also 2 deaths of a Mary Ann Banks (no age) in Bermondsey in 1849 one in 3rd quarter (Vol 4 pg. 24) and one in 4th quarter (Vol 4, Pg 16) Vikki

what is her name? update just found her on the 1841census Jeanette

Am looking for a birth if registered and a death of a girl banks born 1841 in Surrey, England St Mary Magdalen Bermondsey Surrey area. I cannot seem to get anywhere with ancestry but she would of died before 1851 as she disappears from cenus she was 5days old in 1841 cenus. Any help from any website would be great. Thanks
