I believe they were all born in Halstead Essex, Ellen 1856, Charlotte 1859, George 1867 and Sydney, 1880. I thought an 1881 census might tell me if there was any other family or peole living with them, also where they lived then.

Looks like the right marriage, thanks, but will look to see if this Sarah could be married to a relative.

Have found this one in 1861 but no sign of children George Butcher abt 1828 Little Yeldham, Essex, England Head Wickham St Paul Essex Sarah Butcher abt 1833 Wickham St Pauls, Essex, England Wife Wickham St Paul Essex Sarah Tuffin abt 1797 Little Maplestead, Essex, England Mother Wickham St Paul Essex and from this you would presume Sarahs maiden name was Tuffin not Cox - so probably not the right one!! Will leave it here for a while !

Looking for George Butcher and his wife Sarah Cox, born around 1831 in Gosfield/Halstead Essex, they had four children Ellen, Charlotte, George and Sydney. Any info would be appeciated. Thanks Jennifer.
