I can't find either James or Elizabeth In North Shields in 41 If she was born in Wallsend, then the baptims for there only go up to1812 on the IGI and there are only the non conformist ones for North Shields. There must have been a big C of E church. Your only way forward would be to look at the parish records. If You can't get to the Newcastle records office, you can always order the films into your nearest IGI centre. Sorry I couldn't help you , but I have no more time now. Linda

There are 7 districts all of about 30 pages long, so too much to trawl through. In any case, it says she was born in Wallsend on the 51 census, so she might not even be in North Shields in 41, though as she married there in 43 it is probable. I will look again, but I tried all sorts of spellings yessterday and searched with just Elizabeth and no surname, all with no luck Linda

I realise that, but I spent ages looking for them yesterday, with no luck. There is no one obvious today if they are in North Shields I am trying to tackle it, by loking at all of North Shileds in the 41 census. The trouble is there seem to be 18 ennumeration districts, so i can't look through all of that lot for you. I will see if I can narrow it down to just North Shields, but it still may be too big a task Linda

I have been searching both the 41 and 51 censuses and I can't find them either. Do you have James and Alice on any censuses. Can you give all the information you have. where did you find Alice? Was she a witness on the marriage cert? Linda
