Find Ancestors

hello all, i have new information now, aswell as a possible address for hugh, please see below. I have just discovered that three of my ancestors emigrated from county Fermanagh to New York in I would guess around 1915. They are THOMAS ROONEY, b. 13 Nov 1887, kilcreen co monaghan; d. Jan 1953, New York, I do not know who Thomas married, but I have been told he had 4 sons and one daughter. MARGARET aka PEGGY MCGUIRE; b. allygesh drumlea. , on an old piece of paper I have , I can make out the following address, 610 e140 st, Bronx They had five sons and one daughter JAMES ROONEY, b. 12 Nov 1870, lannaght, co monaghan. Moved to usa and disappeared, not sure where, maybe in same area as his brothers? so that’s nine sons above to carry on the rooney name, I am hoping someone out there is related to these Rooney’s and can get in touch. Or order his death cert. This can be done on Ancestry There are too many Thomas Rooney's in NY for me to pinpoint the right one without proof of wifes name. The ones I already posted were the obvious ones to me but by ordering the death cert you may get more clues to follow up on. Sean, There other possible records for Hugh Rooney. Did he have a middle name? Do you know his date of birth? I assume if Thomas was born in Northern Ireland, then Hugh was as well. There is a WW1 Draft Registration Record for Hugh M Rooney b May 31, 1888 in Belfast. He's living in Brooklyn, NY city. Can't find a Hugh Rooney with wife Peggy. Ok, now when you say New York I assumed you meant the city. New york is a very big state going as far north as the Canadian border south to Long Island (where I live). I found this one in Westchester County which is north of New York City. Hello rosemary and thanks for the reply , I have been to Ireland last week speaking to old family members and the told me that hugh lived in new york, but they said his wife was peggy , so maybe, unless he married twice, I would say this was not him.Is this all the hugh rooneys on there, or are there more? On the 1920 and 1930 there is a Hugh Rooney b 1889 in Ireland living in Manhattan, NY, however it shows his wife's name is Bridgit. On the 1920 there are 2 children: Katherine age 2 years, 10 months and Hugh age 1 year, 5 months. Shows he immigrated in 1907, occupation is Fireman. On the 1930 there are no children with them. On the 1910 it has Hugh living with his sister Mary age 26. Is this the right person? 1930 is the last available census. Rose
