Hi Lyn, I checked Thomas Clarkson b 1792 Bagby siblings and I found there was another Thomas Clarkson b 1796 to John & Jane which more or less says the first Thomas died!!! Thank you once again for your input greatly appreciated. Liz

Liz, I have been watching all of this, some I follow ,some I don't. I have been looking at the IGI and the NBI discs which I have. Bagby is very close to here(Thirsk). There are no Clarkson burials in Bagby, but there are lots in Thirsk. If it was the Bagby christening, then the parents were John Clarkson and Jane Eshelby. There are Eshelby burials in both Thirsk and Bagby. There is no need to pay for any look ups at Northallerton records office, I will pop in and look for you. So if you have a good sort out and decide what you need looking at, I will do it. Linda

Hi Liz, You are very welcome. I just looked him up on the 1861 Census and he gives his birth place as near Thirsk so the Bagby one could well be him. Lyn

Liz there's a Thomas Clarkson baptised 1792 in Bagby who might be worth looking at. I have family from Bagby and they often give Thirsk as their birthplace in the censuses

Hi Georgina, Thank you so much for that but I don't think it is him. I'm pretty sure it was 1793 as when he died in Hampstead in 1876 he was 83 which also ties in with the 1861 census where his birth year is 1793. Liz

Hi, I'm desperately trying to find my GGG grandfather Thomas Clarkson's birth/christening in Thirsk Yorkshire ca 1793. I cannot find him on the IGI or BIVRI. Is anyone able to assist me in my quest? Thank you so much. Liz
