	Just a thought but the only thing I haven´t done is search the complete marriage index to see if I can find the marriage for William Edwards and Mary Ann Smith. You can do this on Ancestry http://www.ancestry(.)co(.)uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx its free to search although you will have to register with Ancestry first. you need to search the complete images, searching quarter by quarter, year by year.
