Betty, This is the Agnes Innes I found in 1881. Have you found David and Agnes in the 1891 census? The census would hopefully confirm exactly where Agnes was born, as this one was born in England. Dwelling: 19 Clepington Street Census Place: Dundee, Forfar, Scotland Source: FHL Film 0203487 GRO Ref Volume 282-4 EnumDist 25 Page 23 Marr Age Sex Birthplace Margaret INNES U 24 F Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland Rel: Head Occ: Weaver Jute Agnes INNES U 16 F England Rel: Sister Occ: Mill Worker Jute Helen INNES 12 F Lossie, Elgin, Scotland Rel: Sister Occ: Scholar Don't think the Innes family births found in Banff are connected the mother is listed in 1881 census along with two daughters Ann and Maggie A Innes Liz |

I think this is David Dye's parents marriage. As Elisabeth was often shortened to Betsy. ROBERT DYE Male Family -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event(s): Birth: Christening: Death: Burial: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages: Spouse: ELISABETH INGLIS Family Marriage: 24 DEC 1853 Liff Benvie And Invergowrie, Angus, Scotland And here is the children of Robert and Elisab 1. JOHN DYE - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Birth: 13 AUG 1867 Dundee, Angus, Scotland 2. JOHN DYE - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Birth: 02 FEB 1872 Dundee, Angus, Scotland 3. DAVID DYE - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Birth: 12 NOV 1863 Dundee, Angus, Scotland 4. JAMES DYE - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Birth: 01 JAN 1874 Dundee, Angus, Scotland 5. CHARLES DYE - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Birth: 20 JUL 1869 Dundee, Angus, Scotland 6. ROBERT DYE - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Birth: 10 FEB 1859 Dundee, Angus, Scotland 7. JEAN DYE - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Birth: 26 JUN 1857 Dundee, Angus, Scotland 8. MARY ANN DYE - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Birth: 12 JUL 1861 Dundee, Angus, Scotland so it would seem correct if David was 18 at time of marriage. |

betty boo, sometimes there are wrong transcriptions on certificates so it may well be that it was transcribed wrong. I have lots like this and you just have to use every possibility. If the image is on Scotlands People then I wouldn't bother sending off for it, as the certificate you receive will have exactly the same information. regards, Siobhan |

Hi Liz, Agnes Ann worked in the jute mills in Dundee but then so did most of the people in Dundee. My father and mother even worked there, gran and grandfather too. I don't know yet if Agnes had any siters but her mother was dead at the time of her marriage. Betty |

Hi JJH, Yes I tried various spelling of the names and ended up with no credits left on SP. I used the ages of the David Dye and Agnes Ann being between 16 and 18 years of age in the 1881 to be on the safe side but nothing, then I tried the parents, still nothing. Betty |
