Description: This database is an index to the passenger lists of ships arriving from foreign ports at the port of New York from 1851-1891 and '''1935-1938'''. In addition, the names found in the index are linked to actual images of the passenger lists. Information contained in the index includes given name, surname, age, gender, arrival date, port of arrival, port of departure and ship name. |

Hi, sorry dont know that much about it but I think you have to contact the Hackney Social Services department. You might want to try this: I did a name search for just the first name Coonah on the tracesmart.)co.uk website and it comes up with one match on the 2005 and 2006 electoral roll but I dont have credits to see if its her or what her surname is, its not Nunn as I tried that. She might have married? A Long shot I know but might be worth a try as its an unusual name Take out bracket after the full stop if you want to check it out. www.tracesmart.)co.uk Suzanne |

Just an afterthought. Hackney Hospital records are held at St Barts Hospital which you can search. You might strike lucky with their records if she was taken away sraight away. http://www.bartsandthelondon.org.uk/aboutus/st_bartholomews_hospital_archives.asp Suzanne |

Did you know that adoption records from 1930 are now 'OPEN' as they only have a 75 year closure period. You would have to prove a boniafied interest though to see them. Suzanne X |

Can I ask how you got the name of Coonah Patricia Nunn to start with? You must have traced it somehow or from documents of some kind? Doesnt that shed any light on whether she changed her name at adoption? Suzanne |

Hi all some of you may know that i put a thread on hear before asking peoples opinion on the name Coonah being male or female. Well i recieved the birth certificate today and it is indeed the one im looking for Coonah Patricia Nunn was born to Gwendoline Nunn in May 1930 at Hackney Hospital London. Only trouble is she was adopted soon after no details i have but the certificate doesnt have the marking on it that shows adoption. I contacted the GRO and they said its either been missed but the likely hood is its a ellgal adoption or long term foster. I am desperite to get help with this as she still could be alive. Its possible she still was a NUNN and i am needing much advice and help. Please Please Please. x |
