Is this Kirkdale in Liverpool?

No - it's the one in north yorkshire near Kirbymoorside.

Gina - will Kirkdale cover Nawton/Beadlam? I've got some Sunley's in/from Nawton who are proving a bit of a problem (and yes I know it's a common surname for that area) Supposedly all born Nawton - George c1806 and wife Ann c1810 plus children James c1838, Sarah c1839, John c1840, George c1845, Hannah c1850, William c1854 Jools

Dec 10, 1803] I have no idea what this means and can't find any clues in the foreword. However, there is this entry in Dec 1803 Born 10 Dec 1803, Bap 10 Dec 1803 John ill son Hannah ASH I'll check out the others now There are some baptisms for siblings of George - all children of John and Hannah of Nawton, occupation joiner or carpenter 1808 James 1810 Christopher 1813 John 1815 Jospeh 1817 William 1819 Luke and John 1820 Sarah 1822 Mary 1823 Elizabeth and child of George and Ann Bap 30 Aug 1837 James s George and Ann SUNLEY, joiner of Nawton Marriage 11 Mar 1806 John SONLEY and Hannah ASH, botp, banns by William Johnson. Hi Gina My eyes popped when I saw the mention of Kirkdale - I am trying to find any information about the parents both George Robson who I believe married a Jane Shaw in Helmsley in 1813 and Jane Shaw's family father I believe was called Joseph Also confirmation of the births of their children who on census info are shown as being born in Bedale, Kirkdale or Helmsley. The children are William, Joseph, Christopher, robert, Elizabeth and George all born between 1822 and 1840. All the info I have is from IGI and since I live in Canada I am not able to check the Parish records to confirm this Can you be of any help. How do I get a copy of the Parish Records for my own use? Hi Veronica I can only find baptisms 17 Sep 1820 Hannah 16 Nov 1822 William 9 May 1825 Joseph Shaw 2 Sep 1827 Christopher 20 Feb 1832 Robert 23 Mar 1834 Jane All children of George ROBSON and Jane SHAW of Nawton. Occupation Labr. up to 1827 then Farmer. Do you have any idea of birthdate or father for George? I've tried to find them on Ancestry but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack at the moment as places of birth are not shown. There is a George ROBSON baptised in Kirkbymoorside in 1794 but it's not an unusual name. The IGI shows Jane's birth and their marriage was in Helmsley so that's not on these records I've sent you a PM Cheers Gina

Thanks Gina I have run into the same brick wall as you - which George Robson? I only have Joseph as Jane's father because of the entry on the IGI and its confusing on the censuses because Joseph Shaw Robson gives his place of birth as Helmsley or Emely. I don't have a clear picture of the geography of the area so am not ure if Kirbymoorside is close to Helmsley. And on one census George Robson is shown as being from Ampleforth - but is it the right George Robson!!!!!!! Thanks anyway for the pm and for the help. If you find anythign else then let me know.
