Too many Thomas Fishlocks! If some kind person could look for Thomas Fishlock b 1846 in Hampton Middlesex (acc to freebmd). I have him in 1881 and know he married Mary McShee but would love it if someone could look on earlier census' and see who his parents were. He is definitely NOT the Thomas (Frederick) fishlock born 1841 so think he might be one I haven't claimed yet. Many thanks all.

Thanks, seems likely. Any ideas why 13 year old Thomas is described as 'son-in-law'? Would that imply nephew? if his mother had been Digby prior to marriage?

Son in law was the term used for step parents/children......... thus his mother remarried.

it could mean Step son can't find Susannah in 1861. Jeanette

The children in 1861 apart from Ann were listed as son or daughter in law - meaning they were step children and Charles was their stepfather. Charles is listed as married rather than widower Kay
