I am having trouble looking up my fathers birth name as i believe his surname on my birth certificate is his adopted name. The name I have is Robert Gary Broderick, and his stepdad as William Broderick. can anyone help? cheers sam |

Is there any family you could ask about your nan's maiden name? parent? aunt? uncle? even cousin? Or if you have some idea of where and when your nan and step-grandfather married (assuming they did) you could search the marriage index for your step-grandfather and cross reference the spouces maiden name to see if the first names match. - it's free on ancestry http://www.ancestry.()co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx remove brackets. |

I dont have anyone that i can ask about my fathers family, i dont know any of them. I think that my nan and step grandfather got married in 1955, and I think her maiden name was Holland. My dad was born in Manchester, and at the time of my birth his parents were living in Braintree. |
