Find Ancestors

hello all for about 6 months or so i have been working solely on finding info on a missing rele that may be alive i know birth details but the rele was given away as a baby and constantly hunted for but never found. She was never legally adopted etc and her birth cert im told is still legal. Now i have gone down many avenues it was thought she may of been taken to ireland but this is not 100%. I have contacted many agencies with no luck at all. I have joined registers and websites but with no luck at all. I recently recieved copies of the evening news paper 1951 london which the rele was 21 at the time wishing her happy birthday and urging her to get in contact. She never did. Am at a loss with this and wonder if anyone has any idea's. Name of child was Coonah Patricia Nunn Born May 1930.

It is possible she married and therefor you won't find her under the name you have. Have you tried trawling the marriage indexes for a marriage? Sam x

no i havent wasnt sure if she could of had a name change but not officially not sure if she would of had to show her birth cert at marriage though

Have searched uk marriage for birth name from 1951 would of been 21 to 1961 would of been 31. Nothing.

Do you know her exact date of birth. You can search deaths from 1984 - 2004 on her first name an exact date of birth. I did this for a relative of mine, worked a treat. ( I think Merry was the first to suggest it)

yes i have this info exact dob 2/may/1930

tried but nothing

ive tried as well, unless she dropped the first name there isnt a match at all.

i just dont know what to do

Although you have searched UK marriages in the most likely time frame, it would be a good idea to search outside that 10 year boundary....ie. before and after the dates already searched. Gwyn

I just cant seem to find anything on this person have even been looking at deaths but no luck i dont know what else to try. I have contacted salvation army, gro, lma, bernardos, childrens catholic society, ireland gro, many more also joining contact registers but still had nothing. I found one lady also called Coonah in the uk i called her spoke with husband but he didnt think there was a connection although she was born may 1931 just 1 year after the coonah i seek he was sure her parents whom brought her up were her parents and i checked ancestry and on the index there was another coonah born 1931. Really pulling my hair out :o)

Do you know the street address of where she was born, if you do maybe you could try seeking contact within that specific area, someone may remember something, although I agree, time is rolling on, and that's a long time ago now. You could look at the Kelly's directory for the time frame which lists all residents and businesses, maybe you might see something that give you a lucky break? Go to the local library for the area where she was born, view electoral roll info. Whoever took her on must have been known to the family at the time if it was an unofficial adoption? Possibly what you are doing now, and regular posting of the TRYING TO FIND angle may just come up lucky for you. How frustrating for you though ...

she was born at the hackney hospital and i know the address where she went with her mother just after the birth which was urswick road lower clapton. What is the kelly directry? Just at a loss really want to find some info at least. Have even contacted different tv productions etc
