Looking for the parents of Margaret Watt married James Inglis at North Berwick 03/06/1775. There are two possible Margrets. 1. Margaret Watt b1750 North Berwick, parents are Richard Watt & Christine Grieve. 2. Margaret Watt b1756 Haddington, parents are Robert Watt & Marion Learmonth. If I could find out when she died her parents would be given on her death cert. How do I trace her death? Have sent for marriage cert, but dont think that gives parents. Need all the help I can get on this one. Regards Fiona |

You can't get certificates of any description for the dates you mention. You would have to go to parish records. Death certificates don't give parents names, unless they are the informants of the death. How have you got back to 1770s without parish records I wonder? regards Jennifer |
