Hi I have my family 1901 in St Peters,Ipswich ,head of household is Emma Garnham, anyway with her she has 2 daughters (Annie and Elizabeth) then daughter in law(susan crickmore) then 2 other children,it says relation to head is son and daughter for these 2 children but looking at the image they are directly after Susan so think they may be Susans children. What do you guys think? xx |

i don't think Susan is her DIL as she is 48 and Emma is 50 plus susan would have the same surname as Emma They could be Annie's children |

Sorry should have mentioned that Emma was an only child, she also had another son called Walter Valentine born 1879 and in 1901 living Northamptonshire. The Walter in 1901 was registred Walter Valentine Mar 1897 which is what is making me wonder,i dont always go on what the census say about who the parents are as i have known them to get it wrong.Emmas husband had no sister called Sarah and Emma and her husband seperated between 1881 and 1891. xx |

I think it could say S-in-law for sister in law. Going by their ages the two women are similar - not likely to be her daughter in law. In this case I think the younger children belong to the sister in law. Strickly speaking they are nephew and neice to the head. She's quite old to have such young children! (but not impossible) Anne |

I think they are the children of Emma Garnham, as it clearly states after Susan Crickmore, (Walter Garnham) the age of both Emma Garnham 50yr and Susan Crickmore 48 are only 2 years, nothing in it realy My great gran had her last child age 58 years Roy |

Yeh i think thats what i'm gonna have to do i live local to suffolk so i was thinking about checking out the PR but ont know what aprish they were baptised in,lol. Roy i am a direct descendent of Emma Bond and Ezra Garnham (her husband bn 1856 in Chelmodiston)and i have traced both lines back to the 1700's and know where they both were on all cenuses,in 1891 Ezra is living Hunts with their 3 elder children listed as married and in 1901 those 3 children have left home and Ezra is in Bucks Lodging and says he is a widower. xx |

Sorry! I failed to notice the surnames of the little ones! I think you'd have to get some certificates to deal with this puzzle! Susan Crickmore is with her husband William and some children in 1891. Wonder who William was? Anne |

Danuella I've been doing some digging and on the 1891 Susan Crickmore is with her husband William and they had a daughter Elizabeth b 1885 Ipswich i can't find William or Elizabeth on the 1901 so do you think that maybe Elizabeth Garnham is really Elizabeth Crickmore |

Hiya no i know Elizabeth Garnham is Sarah Elizabeth Garnham my gt gt grandmother, just curious what anyone thought about the children Walter and Alice ,i did trace Susan as well and came up with the same as you Julie.I do know Emma had an illegtimate son Alfed/Frederick in 1868 so maybe Susan and he were a couple but never married, who knows eh!! Definatly gonna have to get the birth certs,or wait till 1911,lol Hugs xx |

Off topic - but Porkie Pie, did your great gran REALLY give birth at 58? That is exceptionally rare. No unmarried daughters anywhere? OC |
