I have just found HAROLD CASPER SOLDER's birth register - Harold Casper SALZER the dates fit. Jun 1897 West Ham Vol 4a p117. I wonder if they are in the 1901 census as SALZER or SOLDER. Tammy :~)

I have the name HAROLD CASPER SOLDER I am told born in 1897 and I believe that the above Solder's were his family in some way - Casper Solder was probably his grandfather. I can't find Harold Casper's birth register and I have looked in Ancestry and FreeBMD. I don't know if he is on the 1901 census but he should be. The shoemaker occupation fits with what I was told. Possibly Solden? But the best way to find mums name would be the kids birth cert. Have you found that?

Where have you looked for the marriage? Freebmd and ancestry full index? You really ought to buy one of the kids birth certs - your direct ancestors for £7 to check the maiden name of mum.
