WOW - Maureen I think you have found my Isaac. In 1861 George as his place of birth as Earl Stoneham ! But my next mystery is where is george in 1851 ?...He might not have been on 1841 but he should be on the 1851....This man never makes things easy........ Esta, Just to update. 1851 census Jacob Abbott b.1842 East Stonham is listed as son-in-law. Emma Girling is born 1823 in Coddenham. Not found a match for that birth in 1840 for a George Girling. Ruled out the George Girling born 1833 in Suffolk that is showing on the 1851 census - living with his sister - as I can find them in 1841 with parents John and Sarah. Maureen

Maureen..Sorry I didn't get back to check this yesterday..but Thank you. Still not sure why George wasn't with his parents in 1851...so will have to do some digging around...I was also unable to find a birth for George which doesn't help......Esta x
