I am looking for Charles Perkins or Parkins born Deptford 1875. Bear with me while I put up the 1881 census. Charles did not have a father and he was not with his mother. He could be with anybody. Julie thanks for that. May I just ask if you were looking for nephews only, or any Charles Perkins of the right age? Thanks again, Selena |

Julie thanks for all your help. I'm sorry if I didn't give all the facts. Frances Perkins married William Bateman in 1859. Had son Charles Bateman around 1867 William Bateman died in 1870 Frances Bateman (nee Perkins) marries Charles Bromley 1879 (pending certificate). Charles Bateman on 1881 (mistranscribed as Baleman) with stepfather Charles Bromley and Charles Perkins. Frances Bromley (formerly Bateman, nee Perkins) died in 1880 (pending certificate) Charles Perkins/Parkins was born in 1875 to Sarah Perkins/Parkins. No father. Sarah gave him to her sister Frances Perkins to look after. I am trying to find out what happened to Charles after auntie Frances died. If only they weren't all called Charles! Sorry for long message! |

Julie thanks. I suspect that he took on uncle's surname for the 1891 and that's why we can't find him. I have had this happen before. I've just got to weed through the aunties and uncles now. Cheers, Selena |
