I have looked on the 1901 census index and found a Minnie Pring born 1890 age 11 in Tun Wells and a Frances Pring age 51 born Hadlow Could you please tell me other members of the household. would be most grateful as I am trying to see where Minnie fits in to my family Many thanks Dawn Please see my message at the bottom of the page. can't seem to see them before 1901 census Jeanette

hi Jeanette, Wow thanks for that! of cousre it's added another problem!!!! A pity they can't be found in the 1891, i found Frances in the 1881 with a husband James a pork butcher and the John in the 1901 is with her , but no Emma who would of been 5! I have just tried finding Emma on the 1881 but nothing! have also just put Emma in with rough date of birh in Kent just incase the name was transcribed wrong! but nothing that fits! I wonder if the surname was mis transcribed in the 1891? as Frances is there in the 1881 and 1901. My Greener's were put as Preeners in the 1901, but the image I can see it's Greeners. This Minnie is supposed to be the cousin of my Gdad George Smitherman born 1888 in T/Wells so am trying to find the connection as theoretically their parents should of been each others aunt or uncle! Still i suppose it would be boring if everything was straight forwar wouldn't it!! Dawn in NZ

Hi Maureen, I wrote you another message by answered my own question, about the Emma Pring whom Minnie was living with as a sister in 1901. She married Minnie's brother and was a Baldock. I am having very strong suspicions that Minnie could of been my Grandmother's cousin and maybe a BIG BIG mystery and brickwall could be starting to crumble!! Could you possibly do me another favour if you are able to check the 1851 for Minnie's father James born 1836 in Pembury, there may also be with him a Thomas born 1846 and Arthur born 1849 as they were all born Pembury. I have this George Greener! [my grandmother's grandfather] who vanished from Pembury story is he abscounded with a 'lady' from the workhouse there, he was a porter there in 1882 when his last children [twins] were baptised, after that????? on his army papers he says he was born Pembury age between 1841/45 roughly but no Greeners anywhere in that area, also no death for him anywhere! His wife puts herself as married in 1891 and a widow in 1901! I suspect he was reg under his mother's name? So anything you are able to tell me about the 1851 would be much appreciated! I take this up every now and again, exploring new avenues to no avail! Thanks Dawn

Hi Maureen, Wow thanks very much for that. Not sure if this family will link in with my Greener!! thought since they all put Pembury as a birthplace, that they would of been there. James 's two brother's Arthur and Thomas were living thee, they seem to change all the time, and wonder how James and Frances met in Frant? she was from Hadlow ok he was there, but some of my other ancestors were there in 1851 but then moved to the bigger place of T/Wells. Do you have access to the 1851 and 1841? just to see if they were living in Pembury. Thanks a bunch for your help Dawn
