Find Ancestors

Can anyone please help me. I'm looking for information on my Great Grandad. He had a sister called Vera Astle. I know she was born around 1908 and lived in Derbyshire like all my family. However i would like to know who and when she was married. I have had a lead that she married a man called Harry Parkinson born around 1905. However i wanted to know if there was a way this was my Vera or another one. Veras dad was called John, she had 4 other sisters and like i said a brother. Please help? Thank you Katie

hmm, i think she was born in newall. Below are the names and DOB of her brother and sisters incase that will help: Harold Astle - 1902 Emma Astle - 1904 Vera Astle - 1908 Lyril Astle - 1898 Florence Astle - 1903 Evelyn Astle - 1900 All of the DOB are just rough however. I'm afraid that as Julie says you will have to trawl through the marriage indexes til you come up with the right names. At least after 1912 there will be the spouses name on the index as well. You will have to start from about the earliest age she could ahve married ie 18, so 1926. Sorry there is no easy way, we've all had to do this at on etime or another.

So you need to look for the marriage ref sometime prior to the birth of the eldest child & work backwards. The only way you will know for certain if it is the right couple is to get the cert. Are you on Ancestry. If not you can register and search the Civil Regisiter Index for free.

could find nothing in 1926 or 1930 or 1931

I dont think it was her second name. I am going to the records office next week so that might shed some light as it has her birth and death records. Should have marriage. Thank you for your help. Katie

Katie Where was Brian Parkinson bor the only one i can see for that year have MMN Stevenson born Croydon and couldn't find a birth for Jennifer in 1932
