Lisa, You're an absolute star - thank you for all the info and the time you must have spent. If there's anything you want from Derbyshire please let me know. Terrific also to see Dorothy Mortimer mentioned as the contact point on the 1928 ship voyage that you turned up. This was his sister Ada Dorothy Hodson (born Boston, Mass Oct 1890). She married Vernon Mortimer in Oct 1914 in West Derby, Liverpool. Vernon was my great uncle - my grandfathers brother ( I am a Mortimer) and Dorothy was my great aunt. Thanks for looking for the deaths of the parents i.e. Henry Napolean Hodson and Clara. I can't thank you enough. Kind regards Carl

Lisa, Thank you. That is great and very kind of you. The details match exactly. After receiving your posting I checked the Familysearch website and found William on the Social Security Death Index - his birth and location (East Boston) match exactly with your WW1 information. Does anyone know how I would go about finding the death/burial information for the parents i.e. Henry Napolean Hodson (dob 1862/63 - Banbury) and his wife Clara Louise (dob 1867 - Liverpool). Many thanks to all. Regards Carl

Hi Jim, Hi Margaret, Thank you both so much for the look ups and information. It is all really great and new to me. I can't believe I missed Clara in the 1901 census!!! I picked up her daughter Ada years ago in the 1901 census in Liverpool with Clara's mother (i.e. Ada's grandmother). The ship trips are news also. They seemed to go back and forth (i got a few trips for Clara in the 1920's. A couple of additional requests please:- Jim - any chance of listing the others that you mentioned in the 1910 census (especially any Mortimers or Eve's) - if there are too many and no Mortimers or Eve's then don't worry. Secondly, does anyone have access to and see them in the 1920 or 1930 US census. But thank you both once again for the info - it's much appreciated. Kind Regards Carl

Looks like Henry went back to England for a visit in 1906. He's on the Ellis Island site: Henry Napoleon Hodson, 43, decorator, American citizen, address East Boston, says he's been in the States for 30 years. There's also a 12 year old W. E. Hodson aboard but he lives in Chicago. The ship was the Umbria, left Liverpool Feb. 10, 1906, arrived New York 19 Feb. 1906.

Could anyone help me trace, via the census, a family who lived in Boston, Massachusetts please. Details are as follows: Henry Napolean Hodson (a builder born 1862 England), Clara Hodson his wife (born 1867 England), Ada Dorothy Hodson daughter (born Oct 1890 in Boston, Mass). Ada Dorothy may appear in say 1930 under her married name Ada Mortimer. At one time the family lived in Paris Street, East Boston. Any transcripts would be really appreciated including any other names in the household. Thank you. Carl
