Find Ancestors

Just found to my utter satisfaction the christening of Elizabeth in 1834 at Manchester Cathedral.Now want to find if she got married but nothing showing on where Ive been looking.Now you may think Im an old pro but still learning..how do I find a marraige for her.Due to census info not coming up for her in 1871 the last info I have is 1861 where she is still with her parents Joseph and Alice in Greengate in Salford.Loads of possible deaths but can someone help me out and see if a marraige please.Thanks....Wanda.x

There are some on the IGI for Manchester Cathedral between 1861 and 1871. Have you checked those? Reg

There are a considerable number of Elizabeth Brierley marriages on the transcribed records during the period 1861 - 1871. You will need to cross refer all the possible surnames with 1871 census, based on Elizabeth's age and birthplace. Reg

The only Joseph Brierley on the 1871 is a lodger dob abt 1813 born Rochdale and is a machine turner.All through the census`s up to his death he is a mechanic.This is one census where I cant find the family.Just need a bit of help as I keep coming up with the same ones every time yet on one of his daughters whom I have finally found was listed as 10 years younger in one census and named Brikley in another..Just give me a push please..Wanda.x

Could Elizabeth's name have been transcribed wrongly on the 1861 census, because although there is a 'ditto' under Brierley for her surname, it actually has a 'ditto' under married too. There's also a Robert Jones described as 'son-in-law'. Kath. x

There are dozens of Elizabeth Brierleys on Lancsbmd. A shortcut which may or may not work - can you find her parents in 1871, and have a look around to see if she is living nearby, based on married Elizabeths of the right age? OC

I think Elizabeth's surname on the 1861 census should be Jones, it look's like Robert is her husband & Robert & Edward are her children...
