There is a male name missing from the page on the transcription, so you would have to buy the certificate to be certain. The two male names that are there are Patrick Murphy and Stephen Fegan. You could look to see if either of these is married to a Jane in the 1871 census, but the certificate is the only sure way of being certain. UPDATE - There is a Jane Fegan on the 1871 census listed as Head, born the right time in Ireland (is this right?). Can't tell whether it says 'married' or 'Widow' as the image isn't very clear. There is also a Patrick Murphy in 1871 with a wife called Jane born at the right time, so you really do need the marriage certificate. Kath. x

Patrick Murphy married Jane Carter in 1864 at Liverpool St Peter. No sign of a Fegan marriage on Lancsbmd, but not all have been transcribed yet. UPDATE: Can anyone else see what I can see - Carter could be a very bad mistranscription of Luvate? I can pair off the others, (except for Stephen Fegan) OC

There should only be two marriages per page so one of the women has been incorrectly transcribed. Rose

Why only two mariages per page Rose? I've seen pages with four couples. Kath. x

Not sure how this marriage thing works exactly but I've found Stephen and Jane marriage indexes in July-Sept 1864 (8B 966) on Genealogist

Prior to 1852, up to 4 marriages were entered on each page of the register. After that, there are two marriages per page. Rose
