Hi Maurice, Got some more. Mary and Clara went back to the US in Oct 1901. I can't quite read the image but it says NH which would mean New Hampshire. Rose

Rose, After due deliberation you are right, I made the wrong assumption thinking that Clara was a Billson - It makes much more sense the way you have sorted it out. Maurice.

I have found a Clara Billson age 12 on the 1901 England census. Clara appears as niece to James Billson Head on the 1901 Mountsorrel census for Leicestershire.but birthplace for her says that she is an American subject. I am trying to find her English Father who would have been born in Leicestershire town of Rothy or Mountsorrel . Could anyone please see if a birth was registered in the USA in 1888 for Clara. In hope Maurice

Maurice, There are no online BMDs available in the US. To get anywhere, you need to know what state she was born in. There's no hope of finding her on the 1890 census because that is mostly destroyed. Rose
