Gary, I cannot see any Tolhursts born in the Lewes district in 1923,24,25 or 26.

Hi Gary, You can look this up yourself. Go to ancestry co uk (insert .), click on Go Direclyt to UK Births Marriages and Deaths. Register to look at the bmds ..... it's FREE. Now go to Complete Index to bmds. You have to trawl through quarter by quarter, year by year but you should find the name of the person in the Index. Then you go to www.gro.gov.uk, click on Ordering Certificates, and follow instructions. I did a quick trawl through 1925, all 4 quarters ... couldn't see a John Tolhurst + Ditchling, ........ although there was Male Tolhurst registered Faversham .............. is that in Sussex? It all depends on what the registraion place is for Ditchling!! You will probably have to look one or two eyars each side of 1925. Good luck Sylvia (in Canada)

Sylvia, Ditchling comes under the Lewes district, no John Tolhurst registered under Lewes in 1925, will check either side.
