Hi Kerri, You looked up Richard Deane for me and found out his parents who are William Deane and Frances Care. I can't seem to find out their marriage. I have found one in 1869 Sept for William Deane, there was a Frances there but the surname was Rawlings. There were only three people there two men and only one woman so I suppose there could be another Frances missing but I was wondering if you could possibly check the marriages for Waterford where Richard was born. I could find a Frances Mary Care b1845 and that is the time she was born going on the 1881 Census with her second marriage. I thought I was getting excited too quickly, nothing is easy is it. Thanks Julia |

Hi This is a long shot but I have spent ages with my brickwall from Ireland - Elias McDonald born circa 1794 give or take a few years. He came over to England pre 1825 and he is only on the 1841 and 1851 censuses as he died in 1860. The censuses just say Ireland, and I also cannot find his marriage to Elizabeth Leech - (name from their youngest childs birth cert). Elizabeth was born in Lancashire - either Manchester or Pendlebury and their children were born in Newton Moor, Cheshire (one in Carlisle) and a couple in Simmondly, Derbyshire. Any info would be of help! In case you can find any baptisms of their children they are: Sarah b. 1825c in Newton Isabella b. 1828c in Carlisle Margaret b. 1830 in Whitfield Derbyshire John b. 1835 in Newton Elias b. 1836 in Newton (he is my 3x great grandfather) Joseph b. 1838 in Newton Ellen b. 1840 in Newton James b. 1841 in Simmondly Also - Elias junior married a Jane Drake who was born around 1836 in Honley, Yorkshire (comes under Almondbury, and is in Huddersfield district) her marriage cert gives her father as John Drake. The 1841 census has her with her uncle? John Jepson (also spelt Jebson). In 1851 she is with her auntie Fanny Knott (nee Jebson/Jepson) and by 1856 she is married. Any info on her would be great too - I would imagine her mother was a Jebson/Jepson - the sister of John and Fanny but no idea as yet. Thanks!! |
