Clive Sorry if this seems harsh..........but there is no point in anyone wasting time trying to trace all Eliza Croot's antecedents until you are 100% sure that she is the person who married George. You will need to buy the marriage cert to be sure............. Reg

I'm not sure why you are asking for Eliza's birthplace? You have given that info in your message............you say it was Potton Reg

All bmd's are completely free on Ancestry. The registration district covering Potton is Biggleswade. Reg

Can you find the marriage of my ancester George Brittain b.1837 Potton Bedfordshire, son of Richard Brittain & Mary Bland. George married Eliza ???? early census returns have him living in Potton when their son James was born in 1868 they were living in Islington district. I would appreciate any early census printouts. family on the 1881 census George Brittain - Head - Married - age 44 - Horse Keeper. Born Potton, Beds. Eliza - wife age 47 Charles - son age 14 - Field Labourer - born Islington James - son - age 12 - born Islington. Family living at 23 Augurs Cott. Barking, West Ham I am still trying to find them on the 1871 census and also their marriage record. I can find them on the 1861 census, but not on 1871 census. 1861. George Brittain - Head - Married - age 24. Labourer. Eliza - wife - age 24. Both born Potton, Bedfordshire. Living at 9 Upper Guildford Stret, Islington and I think this is their marriage George Brittain married Eliza Croot. Sept Quarter of 1860 Islington Page 301 Vol - 1b I now now Eliza's maiden name and their marriage. Can you go further back to find the Brittains on 1951-1941 census as well as to find Eliza Croot's ancestral line her parents sibling and where she was born. Many thanks regards Clive
