Sussex ancestors: My grandfather George Ernest WADEY was b20/2/1886 in Lewes (although his birth cert says Ernest George) to parents Alfred WADEY 27/11/1856 in Wellington St, St Johns and Annie Rebecca formerly POLLARD b1859 Iford, Sussex. George`s sister Clara Beatrice WADEY b6/9/1882 in Winterbourne, St Anns USD, Lewes married an Ernest POLLARD. I`m trying to find out if she married her cousin! Georges other brothers and sisters were: Edith Florence WADEY b2/7/1887 in St Anns. Rose Emily WADEY b3/2/1885 in St Anns, married twice, Albert SCOTT and Cecil Edward ANSLEY. Minnie WADEY b4/12/1889 at 4 Neville Terrace, St Anns. She had a child called Ernest WADEY. Alice Sarah WADEY b1881 married Albert UPTON. Mary Wadey. Elsie WADEY married Joe MOGFORD. Annie Rebecca POLLARDs parents were Mark POLLARD b1832 (Mark`s mother Eliza ? b1803) and Sarah ? b1831. Annie Rebecca had a brother Charles William POLLARD b1862 and a sister Alice POLLARD b1863. Alfred WADEY`s parents were George WADEY bapt 1816 in Hamsey (a farmer of 116 acres who employed 5 people) and Sarah Ann SMITH b1817 in Malling (father Samuel SMITH, a blacksmith). George`s parents were James WADEY b 1784 and Dinah ? b1780. Alfreds siblings were: Charles WADEY b10/10/1859 in Wellington St, St Johns. Clara WADEY 9/11/1853 in Chailey. Samuel WADEY b4/6/1851 in Chailey. Jane WADEY b9/4/1849 in Hamsey, bapt 27/5/1849. James WADEY b17/3/1847 in Hamsey, bapt 25/4/1847, married Charlotte WYATT in 1878. George WADEY b2/11/1845 in Hamsey. Mary WADEY bapt 3/6/1838 in Hamsey. Sarah Ann WADEY bapt 6/10/1839 in Hamsey. Ester WADEY bapt 24/1/1841 in Hamsey.
