My father, Patrick O'Connell (later known as Connell) was born in 1910 in Athy, in County Kildare, and came to England to look for work (he was then a labourer) in the 1930s. His sister, Lily, also moved to England, but I know next to nothing about the rest of the family who stayed in Ireland. There was a brother, William, and another sister, but I don't know any more.
