Looking for Dowsetts.My Grandmother was born in Plaistow 1881,Mary Ann Dowsett. Her Father Timothy Dowsett born 1853 Ipswich.Believed to have lived in Orsett,Pleishey and surrounding area. The family were part of a religious group called" The Peculiar People" based in Essex. Any info. much appreciated

Hi Patricia.
It's a long shot. I have just found the Dowsetts from Essex on my family tree, dating back to Daniel b c1809. They appear to have come from Sible Hedingham, Essex. I have a Mary Ann Dowsett b 1833 and another Mary Ann born 1869. May be a connection somewhere. Nanny22
