Albert Green, was born in Derbyshire in 1857 to Mary Green who, widowed, later remarried to George Adkins in 1883. Albert is believed to have fostered my mother (Rose Alice Adkins b.1909) and her elder brother Harry Adkins in their early childhood and perhaps into the 1920s. Albert is believed to have settled with his family in Wallasey, Cheshire (now part of Merseyside), and may have been employed by the civil engineers Nott Brodie in developing the first Mersey Tunnel. I am seeking to establish information concerning the early life of my mother and her brother prior to their marriages in 1929. |
