TOMMY SMITH Looking for the family of Tom Smith, who was born in London sometime after 1902. He was the son of William Smith & Jane Matilda UNSTEAD, brother of Jane Matilda Smith, who married Charles Herbert POULTON. Jane & Charles' daughter Jennie Patricia POULTON was my mum, she remembers Tommy's wife being called Aunt Em, & that they had 2 sons (Ron & Rob we think) she last saw the family when they were living in Tuffnell Park c1944. Both Tommy & Jane Matilda Smith seemed to have been brought up by their granny UNSTEAD so we assume their mother died fairly young. Tommy's cousin Alf UNSTEAD went to school with the 2 boys & remembers that for a time they all lived in Elm Park Avenue Hornchurch, they attended Benhurst Junior School, & later Suttons Secondary Boys` School he believes that the family moved to Wellywn Garden City. Tommy was a builder. |
