I would love any information about my great grandfather Edward Dolan Carr. He may or may not have been married to my great grandmother Lavinia Bracewell and had 4 children with her Edward. Eleanor, Albert and my grandfather Levi (Les) Bracewell. The children started out as Carr but their names were changed. Edward (snr) apparently left their lives for reasons unknown around 1907 when my granddad was 2. There are various stories about him, that he was "on the stage". that they were never married, that he was an insurance salesman (but can't be substantiated), that he was a solicitor in Colne. It is also possible from stories that he drank and inclined to violence. There is also a story he may have had another family too. We have no dates and no places of birth etc. He is an enigma! Any help would be gratefully received. firiffic at hot mail d o t c o m |
