ISABELLA SMITH I'm trying to find details of my G.Grandmother, Isabella Smith. She was the second wife of my G.Grandfather, William Stirling. According to my Grandmother's Birth Certificate, they were married in Aberdeen on 14th October 1882, but I can't find any official record of this. According to her age given on Census Records, Isabella was born around 1848 in Kincardine O'Neil, Aberdeen. She had a total of 8 children, as far as I know, 6 with William Stirling ( 3 of whom were born before their marriage ) and 2 who's father I don't know. Their details are: Charles Smith, born 12th June 1869, Kincardine O'Neil, later known as Charles Stirling. Elsie Welsh Smith, born 2nd March 1873, Kincardine O'Neil, may also have changed her name to Stirling. William Stirling, born 22nd December 1877, Fintray Aberdeen. David Smith ( later Stirling ) born May 6th 1879, Fintray, Aberdeen. Janet Williamina Stirling Smith ( later the Smith was dropped ) born 8th February 1882, Fintray, Aberdeen. Jean Stirling, (my Grandmother) born 14th June 1884, Lamington, Logie Easter, Ross-shire. Maryann Stirling ( known as Mary ), born 2nd April 1887, Lamington. Walter Stirling, born 15th April 1889, Lamington. Isabella died in Lamington on 6th January 1932, there are no details of her parents on her death certificate, but her age is given as 86 which would make her year of birth 1845 or 1846, 2 or 3 years earlier than the census records suggest.
