Find Ancestors

I would like any information about the McCathie's who originated in Kinross in the 1700's, that is as far as I have gone back, some stayed in the Perth & Kinross area and others moved to Fife and Edinburgh. So if anyone can assist with info. in the 1900's I would be grateful. McCathie was also spelt McAthie in 1700 & 1800, both spellings being used in the same family. Regards David McCathie

I cannot be of much help to you, but you could help me!. I START my McCathie ancestors in the linen weaving town of Strathmiglo, Fife (N. of Edinburgh) in the late 1700s. From there I have followed them to Edinburgh and on to London. My great-grandfather was born in London as was my grandfather, the latter moved to Hampton (SE London) where he met my grandmother - they moved to her native Island of Guernsey in about 1919

I'd be happy to share what I know about this unusual name
