I am trying to find family and family history of my grandmother Ada Smith. She was born in 1889 and married Joseph Stocks. Her parents were George and Ellen, nee Humber. Ada had two sisters - Kate b. 1887 married Arthur Gell and Eva b.1891 married Ernest Walker. The Walkers lived in Harthill, Yorkshire and the Gells lived in USA. My father, Norman Stocks moved to New Zealand after WW2 and my grandmother, Ada, moved here in 1960. She died in 1968. Ada's grandmother, Mrs Humber married again to become Mrs Perry. She lived in Worksop when my father was a child - so this was in the 1920's. Do any of these people sound like your family? |
