I am trying to trace my Dads family. He is called Robert (Ray) Williams born 1927 Liverpool, he was a professional footballer then a Structural Engineer and lived in Townsend Avenue, Norris Green. His father was also called Robert Williams born approx 1885 in Liverpool and worked as a Wharfinger on the docks. His mother was Alice Potts, again Liverpool born and bred. There was an aunt called Margaret Marlow and an uncle called Tom Williams who owned barbers in Norris Green and Walton Road. My Dads grandfather was also called Robert Williams and born in Liverpool. Norris Green and Liverpool 8 seem to be where everyone lived. The family originally came from Anglesey and are thought to have founded Williamsberg in Australia |
