George Penn Hamilton I am trying to find out about my great grandfather George Penn Hamilton who was 31 in 1911, but I cannot find him in the England and Wales birth indexes, could he be Scottish or Irish? He was an actor (1911) and his stage name was something like 'Penn Hamilton', could the name Penn be his mother's surname? He was said to have been in silent movies, possibly horror movies, but most likely just the stage. He was married to Gladys Annette Goring born in London, who played the piano and ended her days playing the piano in a pub in Brighton. They had two children Harold and Aubrey. George left Gladys and she went to live in Kirkcaldy,Scotland, returning to Brighton at a later date. I have no dates for him as my father never met him and we have very little information on him. On his marriage certificate his father is also George Penn Hamilton and was a confectioner. Does anyone know how I can find out about him? Thanks. Diane Reynolds |
