Hello, I'm Jamie Timmons living in Perth, Western Australia but originally from Glasgow. I'm trying to locate anyone who knows of my maternal grandfather, Jimmy Donnelly. James Donnelly. Born Glasgow 1910, died 1971. James known as Jimmy (it's Glasgow, of course), was a dockside worker who married a Catherine Laing from Belfast. They had five children: James (Jimmy) Ignatius b.1942, Margaret Mary b. 1946, Joseph (Joe) Patrick b. 1947, Jane (Jean) Marie b. 1949, Kathleen Francis b. 1951. I'm sure they lived in Maryhill for some time. Jimmy's wife, Catherine died in 1954 while the children were all still quite young. Jimmy was killed in a dockside accident in 1971. Jane "Jean" Donnelly (my mother) married Raymond Gold Timmons of the Gorbels. We lived in Admiral Street, Kinning Park, Glasgow until 1981 when we emigrated to Australia. Sorry for such a long story, but if there's anyone out there who recognises any of the names above, then I'd LOVE to hear from you. Jamie Timmons Perth, Western Australia |
