Trying to find Kretzchmar

I am the granddaughter of Herman Kretzchmar who came to Manchester in the early 1900's with a circus troop from Germany. He was a trapeze artist. He married Dorothy Mitchell in Manchester and they had one daughter, Elizabeth Clair (my mother). He was then sent back to Germany as World War One broke out and I do not know what happened to him. I am told that he was a lovely man and a perfect gentleman and I would dearly love to know more about him. My mother died in 1999 knowing nothing of her father. Could anybody out there fill in some details for me. I think Herman came originally from either Frankfurt or Hamburg. |
