AUGUSTUS SMITH surely there cant be many Smiths with that name!!! He was my Dad, born in 1906 - parents names JAMES & MARY Smith nee USHER. at time of his birth his parents lived 60 Galbraith Street Poplar London.James Smiths occupation shown as Platelayer (Railways?) My Dad had several brothers and sisters, those l can remember a bit about. Brother HENRY, he had a daughter who would be about 55-65 by now. Sister EMMA/EMILY, l knew her as auntie EMM so cant be sure of her proper name, her married name was GOODE (not sure of spelling) lived NEW CROSS area of London.Speedwell House seems to ring a bell. Sister LOUISE, married to JACK. they lived in block of flats in Abbotts Road Poplar, had several Sons, one l can remember was called JOHN,married a girl called MARY.who lived near the fire station to whom l was bridemaid in approx 1956. There was also a cousin of my Dads called PERCY LINGUARD, think his wife was called ANN and they lived somewhere near the railway lines in Lewisham. I know this is all a bit vague but hope someone out there can help. My Mums name was JESSIE AUSTIN TARLTON before she married my Dad in 1938.
