Member Since: January 2004 Posts: 0 Send Message	tracing family before & after 1846 in Scotland ALEXANDER SHERRIFFS marries ISABELLA McKINNON. 27 NOV 1846 in EDINBURGH. address: Old Post Office Close, HIGH Church parish,EDIN/B Isabella: born Isle of Skye, father JAMES McKINNON (tavern keeper). children, all born in Edinbugh Aera. Jane, JAMES, Euphemia, Alexander & Isabella(twins). dec 1848, aug 1850, sept 1852, aug 1855. \| JAMES SHERRIFFS marr ANN BOYD SMITH 31 OCT 1872, District of Govan Church, Lanark, Glasgow. census: 1881 living in BARROW in FURNESS, & 5 Children. (brother Alexander Sherriffs marries & lived in Barrow in Furness. 1881 census.) Name spelt SHIRREFFS on 1891-1901 census if names match let me know. Approx 1884 JAMES & ANN BOYD SHERRIFFS. Move to SUNDERLAND, EAST END, TYNE & WEAR. Children: Ann Boyd, Isabella, Marion Clark, Alexander, Margaret, David, Elizabeth. Isabella (marr) Jack Chiverton 4 Aug 1901. Marion Clark (marr) George Conrad Hahn 22 May 1899. Margaret (marr) Walter Fisher Jul/Sept 1904. Ann Boyd, David, Elizabeth. unknown. Alexander. (my g/dad-- another story, The end "S"is now droped.)
